CAFOD & Justice and Peace

 

 

 

Meetings and activities for CAFOD and Justice and Peace are announced in the weekly Church newsletters.

The parish raises funds throughout the year in support of CAFOD’s projects overseas. We also have two major parish appeals at Harvest (the first Friday of October) and Lent (the Friday after the first Sunday in Lent). For more details about CAFOD’s work visit:
 
 
 
We are a Fair Trade Parish: 
  • Fair Trade tea, coffee and other products are served after mass and at all parish meetings.
  • We promote Fair Trade during Fairtrade fortnight, which is the last two weeks of February.
  • We have a Fair Trade stall after the 10.30am Mass on occasional Sundays throughout the year – see newsletter for details.
 
We raise awareness of the causes of poverty and the structures which keep people poor through posters and other literature displayed around the Church.  We also hold talks on different topics, often accompanied by a shared lunch, to which all are welcome.
